Music Broadcast (Radio City) announced its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) unaudited results. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,932.46 lakhs, slightly down from Rs 5,000.06 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Total income fell to Rs 5,634.12 lakhs from Rs 6,622.36 lakhs a year ago. The company swung to a net loss of Rs 217.42 lakhs, against a net profit of Rs 257.88 lakhs in the same quarter last year. A large net impairment loss on financial assets of Rs 2,497 lakhs was a key drag on profitability. Price Waterhouse issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. The Board also appointed Ms. Divya Rupchand Karani (former CEO of Dentsu South Asia Media) as Additional Non-Executive Independent Director for 5 years, subject to shareholder approval.
The swing from profit to loss, driven by a sizeable impairment charge, is likely to weigh on the stock in the short term. The addition of a high-profile independent director with deep media and advertising expertise is a positive for board quality and governance.
