On the reaction day the stock moved 0.2 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and in line with its Aluminium peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

NSE and BSE each imposed a fine of Rs 7,51,660, including GST, on NALCO for the quarter ended 30 June 2025 for not meeting SEBI listing rules on board and committee composition. The Board said independent director appointments are controlled by the President of India. A waiver application was filed with BSE, and the Government ministry was asked to appoint directors sooner.
The fine is small, but unresolved board composition gaps could lead to further penalties and compliance costs.
