NALCO reported a strong Q1 FY26 with standalone revenue from operations at Rs 3,806.94 crore, up about 33% from Rs 2,856.10 crore in Q1 FY25. Standalone profit after tax surged to Rs 1,063.86 crore (EPS Rs 5.79) from Rs 601.22 crore (EPS Rs 3.27) a year earlier, a growth of nearly 77%. The Chemicals segment saw a particularly sharp jump in both revenue and profit. The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per share (50% on face value) for FY25, taking the total FY25 dividend to Rs 10.50 per share (Rs 8 interim + Rs 2.50 final) when approved at the AGM. The auditors gave an unmodified review opinion but flagged an emphasis of matter on non-recognition of revenue from two Rajasthan wind power plants pending a PPA and ongoing court case.
Sharply higher revenue and profits on a year-on-year basis, driven by the Chemicals segment, are positive signals for the stock. The full-year dividend of Rs 10.50/share is rewarding for shareholders, though the Rajasthan wind plant overhang remains a small unresolved item.
