National General Industries posted Q1 FY27 results with total income nearly doubling to Rs 407.74 lakhs versus Rs 196.86 lakhs a year ago. Steel segment revenue rose from Rs 161.74L to Rs 320.90L. The company swung to a net profit of Rs 72.35 lakhs from a loss of Rs 25.23 lakhs in Q1 FY26, boosted by a Rs 79.50 lakh exceptional gain from Keyman Insurance Policy maturity. Excluding this, operating loss narrowed to Rs 4.31L from Rs 27.26L. EPS came in at Rs 1.53 versus negative Rs 0.59. Auditor R.K. Govil and Co. issued an unmodified limited review report.
Strong revenue growth is positive, but core steel operations remain slightly loss-making. The swing to profit is largely due to a one-time insurance gain, so underlying profitability needs watching.
