NCLT hearing update: SBI case against Future Consumer adjourned

SBI filed a debt recovery case against Future Consumer at NCLT Mumbai. At the 4 June hearing, SBI counsel presented sanction letters, recall notice and an NESL report showing the debt is authenticated by the company. The company argued it has an ongoing arbitration with a JV partner expecting a positive order, and pointed to a related pending matter on whether the company is an NBFC. NCLT has adjourned the case to 8 June 2026 along with the Resurgent matter and directed the company to file written submissions. The case remains pending.
