Nestle India reported Q1 FY26 total sales of ₹5,074 crore, up 5.9% year-on-year, with domestic sales growing 5.5%. Net profit (standalone) stood at ₹659.2 crore versus ₹746.6 crore in Q1 FY25, a decline of about 12%, impacted by higher commodity costs (raw material costs rose from 42.5% to 45.0% of sales) and elevated finance and operating expenses. EBITDA margin came in at 21.7% of sales, lower than the year-ago quarter. The company recorded an exceptional item charge of ₹126.4 crore in the quarter. The board approved an unmodified limited review report from statutory auditors. Additionally, Mr. Suresh Narayanan will retire as Chairman & MD on July 31, 2025, and Mr. Manish Tiwary will take over as the new Chairman & MD from August 1, 2025. A final dividend of ₹10 per share is being paid from July 24, 2025.
Modest top-line growth coupled with margin pressure and a profit decline suggests near-term cost headwinds, though the leadership transition is smooth and the dividend remains supportive for shareholders.
