On the reaction day the stock moved 1.3 pts more than Nifty 100 and 0.1 pts more than its Packaged Foods peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
The Supreme Court has dismissed as withdrawn the appeals filed by the Income Tax authority against Nestle India. The case relates to disallowance of General Licensing fees for financial years 1996 to 2008, with an aggregate amount of Rs 101.21 Crore. The Delhi High Court had earlier ruled in favour of the company, and with the Supreme Court dismissing the tax department's appeals, the favourable order stands. The matter is now closed in Nestle's favour with no financial liability.
Positive for shareholders. Removes uncertainty around a Rs 101 Cr tax claim. No payout or financial impact on the company.
