Nexome Capital Markets (formerly SMIFS Capital Markets) reported strong annual results with total income of Rs. 5,006.39 lakhs for FY26, up 13.2% from Rs. 4,421.82 lakhs in FY25. Net profit after tax grew significantly to Rs. 1,092.10 lakhs from Rs. 117.96 lakhs in the prior year. The company completed a rights issue of 29,38,500 equity shares raising Rs. 2,203.875 lakhs in March 2026. Auditors issued an unmodified clean opinion with several emphasis of matter notes including a Rs. 194.26 lakh ad-hoc provision on loans, Rs. 58.53 lakh stuck in court, and fair valuation loss on investments. The company also incorporated a new wholly-owned subsidiary Nexome Wealth Management in July 2025 and voluntarily delisted from the Calcutta Stock Exchange in January 2026.
The substantial jump in profitability and successful rights issue strengthens the balance sheet, though investors should note the provisions taken on loan and investment portfolios indicate ongoing asset quality concerns in the NBFC business.
