NIIT Ltd reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 3,902 million for FY26, up 9.1% from Rs 3,576 million in FY25. However, the company swung to a net loss of Rs 61 million from a profit of Rs 480 million in FY25. Q4 FY26 alone showed a loss of Rs 35 million vs profit of Rs 137 million in Q4 FY25. The sharp profitability decline was driven by exceptional items totaling Rs 110 million (including Rs 46 million towards new Labour Code provisions, Rs 10 million for merger-related costs, and Rs 6 million for tax litigation). Standalone revenue declined 3.8% to Rs 1,211 million. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs 1 per share. Auditors issued unmodified (clean) opinions on both consolidated and standalone results.
The significant turnaround from profit to loss despite modest revenue growth signals operational challenges and heavy exceptional charges. The clean audit opinion provides some comfort, but investors should monitor the impact of the ongoing amalgamation and labour code changes on future profitability.
