Niva Bupa board on July 30, 2026 approved raising up to Rs 500 crore via listed, rated, unsecured, subordinated, redeemable non-convertible debentures on private placement, in one or more tranches. A Debt Raising Committee was set up to finalize terms (coupon, tenure, etc.), which are not yet disclosed. Board also approved Q1 FY27 unaudited results. Auditors flagged an emphasis of matter regarding a pending IRDAI forbearance application for FY25 expenses exceeding allowable limits.
Rs 500 cr NCD raise will bolster capital base for growth and solvency. Coupon and dilution impact on equity depends on terms still to be finalized.
