Niva Bupa reported audited financial results for FY2026 (year ended March 31, 2026). Gross Premiums Written grew 27% to Rs. 8,58,592 lakhs from Rs. 6,76,223 lakhs. However, Profit After Tax declined 39% to Rs. 13,078 lakhs from Rs. 21,352 lakhs due to higher claims (net incurred claims ratio increased to 68.11% from 61.22%) and one-time charges including DGGI penalty of Rs. 524 lakhs and Rs. 1,452 lakhs towards new labour codes. EPS declined to Rs. 0.71 from Rs. 1.22. The company also submitted IFRS financial statements. Joint Statutory Auditors S.R. Batliboi & Co. LLP and Nangia & Co. LLP issued an unmodified opinion. EOM ratio improved to 33.70% from 39.22%, now within regulatory limits. Solvency ratio stood at 2.49x.
Despite strong premium growth, the 39% PAT decline reflects cost pressures from higher claims and one-time charges. The stock may face near-term pressure as earnings per share dropped significantly year-on-year, though improved EOM compliance and stable solvency provide some comfort.
