Oil India gave updates on two tax cases. In the GST on royalty matter, OIL told the Supreme Court it will deposit GST as per law within six weeks, subject to the final outcome. In the Assam land tax case, the State of Assam informed the Court it wishes to withdraw the disputed land tax on mineral oil and will move a bill in the legislature. The Court then disposed of OIL's case. The original Assam demand was around Rs. 2,484.81 crores for years 2005-2024.
Positive: Assam land tax case disposed in OIL's favor, may bring relief from Rs 2,485 crore demand. GST matter still pending.
