Ola Electric's board has approved a rights issue of up to Rs 1,000 crore at Rs 27 per share, about 26% below the current market price. The amount is payable in two calls, with 60% due on application and the balance on a later call date set by the board. All existing shareholders can subscribe, and the promoter will invest on the same terms as other shareholders.
Shareholders can buy more shares at a discount, but the total share count will rise, which may dilute their holding if they do not participate.
