Paytm's board approved September quarter and half-year results. Consolidated quarterly revenue rose 28% year on year to Rs 2,648 crore, while profit after tax rose to Rs 273 crore from Rs 21 crore. Half-year revenue was Rs 5,096 crore and profit after tax Rs 445 crore. The auditor highlighted an unresolved foreign exchange case involving Rs 611 crore without changing its conclusion. The board cleared up to Rs 1,000 crore for subsidiary funding.
Profit growth is positive, but the unresolved foreign exchange case and up to Rs 1,000 crore of subsidiary funding add legal and cash use risks.
