Orient Cement posted Q2 FY26 revenue of Rs 565 crore (down from Rs 643 crore YoY) and PAT of Rs 32 crore (vs Rs 49 crore YoY). Half-year revenue fell to Rs 1,169 crore from Rs 1,510 crore, with H1 PAT dropping to Rs 109 crore from Rs 254 crore. EPS for H1 was Rs 5.31 vs Rs 12.38 last year. An exceptional expense of Rs 6 crore was booked for Labour Codes impact. The company gave Rs 512 crore in inter-corporate deposits to parent Ambuja Cements at 8% interest. Shareholders approved the merger with Ambuja Cements on Sep 28, with NCLT hearing set for Nov 19, 2026.
Weak operating performance with sharp profit decline despite being part of the larger Adani-Ambuja group; merger approval is a key catalyst ahead.
