Birla Cotsyn's Monitoring Committee approved a large backlog of unaudited and audited financial results (standalone and consolidated) covering FY2018-19 through FY2024-25, all cleared in a single meeting on May 29, 2025. For the headline quarter (Q1 FY2021, ended June 30, 2020), the company reported zero revenue from operations, total income of just Rs. 85.06 lakhs (entirely from other income), and a loss before tax of Rs. 181.64 lakhs. The company remains under liquidation, but the NCLT approved a Composite Scheme of Compromise and Arrangement in January 2025, allowing financials to be prepared on a going-concern basis. The Committee also approved a Rs. 3 crore working capital infusion and decided to challenge demands raised by MIDC, NSDL, CDSL, and BSE for the CIRP/liquidation period, since those entities never filed formal claims during the resolution process.
Shareholders should note this is a company emerging from liquidation with a NCLT-approved revival scheme and fresh working capital, but operations are still effectively dormant with zero revenue and deeply negative reserves of around Rs. 661 crore (standalone). Stock may see speculative interest from the revival news, but the business has not yet restarted meaningful operations.
