Panasonic Energy India reported weak Q3 FY26 results with revenue from operations of ₹7,172.48 lakhs, down about 2.3% from ₹7,338.11 lakhs in Q3 FY25. The company slipped into a quarterly loss of ₹(100.06) lakhs versus a profit of ₹241.82 lakhs a year ago, mainly due to a one-time exceptional charge of ₹339.77 lakhs linked to the new Labour Codes (gratuity and leave encashment remeasurement). For the nine-month period, revenue fell to ₹19,837.24 lakhs from ₹20,500.89 lakhs, while profit after tax plunged to ₹175.83 lakhs from ₹1,060.01 lakhs. The company also changed its depreciation method from Written Down Value to Straight Line Method, adding ₹45.24 lakhs to depreciation in the period. Statutory auditor B S R and Co. issued an unmodified limited review report.
Negative near-term sentiment expected as the company posted a quarterly loss after a year of profits, with revenue and margins both contracting. The exceptional item is non-recurring, but the underlying revenue decline and sharp fall in 9-month profits are points of concern for shareholders.
