Paradeep Phosphates won a writ petition in the Delhi High Court on 15th May 2025. The court directed the Department of Fertilizers, Government of India, to release a withheld subsidy of ₹53.50 crore under the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme within six weeks. The subsidy relates to an imported consignment of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer supplied to states in 2013, which had been denied on quality grounds since 2019. The company had argued the consignment was certified as standard by state governments and ICAR's scientific findings.
