PCBL Chemical's board approved Q1 FY26 financial results. Standalone revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,452.98 crore, down about 2.6% from Rs 1,491.02 crore in Q1 FY25, while standalone profit after tax fell roughly 20% to Rs 93.09 crore from Rs 116.28 crore. On a consolidated basis, revenue was nearly flat at Rs 2,114.05 crore versus Rs 2,143.56 crore, but PAT dropped to Rs 94.10 crore from Rs 117.92 crore, a decline of around 20%. Operating margins compressed to 13.85% (consolidated) and 14.54% (standalone) from 15.64% and 16.89% a year ago, mainly due to weaker Carbon Black performance (segment PBIT down from Rs 304.27 cr to Rs 226.69 cr). The auditors S.R. Batliboi & Co. LLP issued an unmodified limited review conclusion on both sets of results. The company also issued Rs 100 crore of commercial paper during the quarter and incorporated a new US subsidiary, Nanovace Inc.
A soft quarter with flat revenue but a sharp ~20% drop in profits and clear margin compression, led by the core Carbon Black segment. Existing shareholders should note weaker earnings power in the opening quarter, though the balance sheet remains manageable with consolidated debt-to-equity improving to 1.39 from 1.46 and DSCR rising to 0.97 from 0.45 sequentially.
