Pet Plastics Ltd reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of ₹124.92 lakhs, up about 40% from ₹88.94 lakhs in Q1 FY25. However, the company posted a loss before tax of ₹33.17 lakhs, widening sharply from a ₹3.16 lakh loss a year ago. Total expenses surged to ₹162.16 lakhs from ₹95.21 lakhs, driven mainly by a big jump in purchases of traded goods (₹212.21 lakhs) and a negative change in inventory of ₹126.34 lakhs. Standalone PAT was a loss of ₹33.17 lakhs versus ₹3.16 lakhs, with basic EPS turning more negative at (₹6.63) from (₹0.63). Consolidated results were similar with a loss of ₹34.45 lakhs. The auditor's limited review report (Maheshwari & Co) is clean with no modifications, and revenue is mostly from merchant trading (₹112.68 lakhs in sales).
Revenue growth looks strong on paper, but losses are widening because expenses are growing much faster than sales, signalling margin compression rather than genuine operating improvement. Shareholders may view this quarter negatively given the deepening losses and negative EPS, even though the top-line is expanding.
