PNB Gilts, a subsidiary of Punjab National Bank and a primary dealer in government securities, reported unaudited Q1 FY26 results (quarter ended June 30, 2025) with total revenue from operations of ₹56,326.51 lacs, up about 28% from ₹44,027.94 lacs in Q1 FY25. Profit after tax tripled to ₹16,007.07 lacs (from ₹5,344.12 lacs), with EPS at ₹8.89 vs ₹2.89 a year earlier. The strong performance was driven mainly by a sharp jump in net gain on securities to ₹15,668.92 lacs (from ₹3,118.19 lacs), while finance costs fell to ₹32,433.93 lacs from ₹35,458.21 lacs. The board also approved the appointment of M/s. Pranav Kumar & Associates as Secretarial Auditor for five years (FY26–FY30), fixed September 17, 2025 as the date for the 29th AGM, and set September 10, 2025 as the record date for the FY25 final dividend. A limited review by statutory auditor Batra Deepak & Associates gave an unmodified conclusion.
Sharp profit growth on the back of robust trading gains on the government securities portfolio is a positive signal for shareholders, but the bulk of the earnings beat came from mark-to-market gains, which can be volatile quarter to quarter. The final dividend record date and AGM schedule are routine administrative updates with no immediate price impact.
