ICRA has upgraded PNB Housing Finance's rating to AAA (Stable) from AA+ (Stable) for both long-term bank facilities of Rs 10,000 crore and non-convertible debentures of Rs 500 crore. The upgrade reflects improved asset quality with gross stage 3 assets falling to 0.9% in June 2026 from 3.8% in March 2023, a shift toward retail-focused mortgage lending, comfortable capital adequacy ratio of 28.3%, and continued promoter support from Punjab National Bank which holds about 28% stake. AUM stands at Rs 93,021 crore with Q1 FY27 profit after tax of Rs 557 crore.
Highest investment-grade rating should lower borrowing costs and boost investor confidence; likely positive for the stock.
