PNB Housing Finance received an Income Tax order dated December 22, 2025 for assessment years 2019-20 and 2020-21, demanding Rs 107.92 crore (Rs 91.33 crore for AY 2020-21 and Rs 16.58 crore for AY 2019-20). The demand arose from disallowance of certain expenses and deductions under section 153C following a search on a third party. The company says the order has inadvertent errors like incorrect tax rates and will file a rectification application. It has already filed an appeal with ITAT against prior identified disallowances.
Company expects no material financial impact and will contest the demand. Tax disputes are routine for housing finance firms. Watch the ITAT outcome.
