PNC Infratech's subsidiary Awadh Expressway received NHAI show cause notices after heavy rains caused a 300m slippage on the Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, less than 0.5 percent of the project length. Bid project cost is Rs 1,513 crore. NHAI may levy a 2 percent penalty on performance security, debar specific technical staff up to 3 years, and downgrade pavement rating. Project Manager removed per interim order dated 28 July 2026. Company says it has not been debarred or declared non-performer and there is no material impact on other projects or ability to bid for new work.
