NCLAT has stayed the NCLT Ahmedabad order that had admitted insolvency proceedings against Polycab under Section 9 of IBC. The case was filed by Asier Metals Private Limited for alleged operational debt of 2.79 crore rupees. Polycab argued there is a pre-existing dispute over credit notes and offered to deposit the claimed amount via FDR. Next hearing listed on October 26, 2026.
Positive relief for Polycab as insolvency admission is on hold. Debt amount is small relative to company size of over 1 lakh crore market cap.
