Capri Global Capital Limited (CGCL), an NBFC operating under the brand 'Capri Loans', has successfully raised ₹2,000 Crores through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) by issuing approximately 13.65 crore equity shares to institutional investors. This marks the company's first QIP in the last decade. The issue saw strong demand from a diverse pool of foreign and domestic institutional investors, including marquee names such as BlackRock, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, HDFC Life Insurance, ICICI Lombard, SBI General Insurance, HDFC Ergo, Quant Mutual Fund, Tata AIF, and Think Investments. The company plans to use the funds to expand across lending verticals, grow geographic presence, invest in AI and data science capabilities, and strengthen its capital base. CGCL currently has an AUM of over ₹22,857 Crore, serves 5.5 lakh+ customers through 1,100+ branches.
The ₹2,000 Crore capital infusion strengthens CGCL's balance sheet and supports growth ambitions across MSME, Gold, Construction, and Housing Finance segments. The participation of top-tier global and domestic institutional investors signals strong confidence in the company's fundamentals, though the equity dilution may put short-term pressure on EPS.
