Prime Capital Market Ltd, a small NBFC focused on finance and investments, reported strong profit growth for Q2FY26. Standalone EPS jumped to Rs 0.56 in Q2FY26 from Rs 0.05 in Q2FY25, with H1FY26 EPS at Rs 0.57 vs Rs 0.13 a year ago. Profit before tax for H1FY26 rose sharply to Rs 76.56 lakhs from Rs 18.08 lakhs in H1FY25, helping other equity swing to a positive Rs 68.61 lakhs from a negative Rs 34.96 lakhs. On the balance sheet, total assets grew to Rs 1,805.34 lakhs, but borrowings surged from Rs 20 lakhs to Rs 576.05 lakhs and trade receivables of Rs 272.71 lakhs appeared on the books. Inventories nearly halved to Rs 417.43 lakhs, suggesting sale of stock. The statutory auditor issued an unqualified limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter.
Profit growth is a positive signal for shareholders, but the simultaneous spike in borrowings and continued negative operating cash flow (Rs -58.98 lakhs in H1FY26) suggest the company is funding growth through debt rather than internal accruals, which investors should monitor closely.
