Protean eGov Technologies reported Q1 FY27 standalone revenue from operations of Rs 250.45 Cr, up 19.3% from Rs 209.98 Cr a year ago. Total income stood at Rs 266.07 Cr. However, profit after tax fell sharply to Rs 5.98 Cr from Rs 26.50 Cr, down about 77%, as costs rose faster than revenue. Total expenses grew 27% led by system implementation costs (up 77% to Rs 67.38 Cr) and employee costs (up 22% to Rs 67.81 Cr). EPS dropped to Rs 1.47 from Rs 6.54. Consolidated PAT was Rs 5.86 Cr. Board appointed T R Chadha and Co LLP as new statutory auditor for 5 years from AGM 2026, replacing BSR and Associates which finishes its second term.
Sharp profit fall on rising costs may weigh on the stock. Clean auditor review and orderly auditor rotation support governance.
