Puretrop Fruits (formerly Freshtrop Fruits) reported H1 FY26 revenue from continuing operations of Rs 5,484 lakhs, down about 15% from Rs 6,466 lakhs in H1 FY25. Despite the revenue dip, profit from continuing operations jumped sharply to Rs 326 lakhs versus just Rs 12 lakhs a year ago, helped by lower raw material costs and reduced other expenses. The company also booked Rs 1,560 lakhs as profit from discontinued operations, linked to the fresh fruit business it sold to Green Agrevolution in late 2023 (earn-outs based on export revenue). Total profit for the period stood at Rs 1,886 lakhs (vs Rs 1,503 lakhs), with total EPS of Rs 23.66. The auditor (M/s F P & Associates) issued an unmodified limited review report.
Positive for shareholders — sharp improvement in profitability from continuing operations and continued earnings from the divested fruit business boost the bottom line, even though top-line revenue is shrinking. Investors should watch whether the revenue decline is a one-off or a structural shift, since growth will depend on the remaining business.
