Rupa & Company's Board has recommended a final dividend of Rs. 3 per share (300% on face value of Rs. 1) for FY2026, subject to shareholder approval at the ensuing AGM. The company reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs. 1,259.48 crore, a modest increase from Rs. 1,227.18 crore in the previous year. However, net profit declined to Rs. 71.93 crore from Rs. 82.68 crore in FY2025, representing a ~13% drop. Profit before tax stood at Rs. 97 crore versus Rs. 112.09 crore in the prior year. The company recognised exceptional items totaling Rs. 5.62 crore including settlement of Entry Tax liability and impairment of certain assets. The auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the financial statements. The Board also approved re-appointment of the Whole-time Director and Independent Director, and appointed the CFO as Compliance Officer.
Despite a decline in profitability, the company is maintaining the same dividend payout, which signals confidence in cash flows. However, the profit decline may create some cautious sentiment among investors, especially given the challenging operating environment in the hosiery/textile sector.
