Safari Industries announced its Q1 FY26 results with standalone revenue growing about 17% year-on-year to Rs. 527.34 crore, up from Rs. 449.46 crore a year ago. Standalone profit after tax rose to Rs. 39.69 crore from Rs. 36.71 crore, while consolidated PAT increased to Rs. 50.49 crore from Rs. 44.41 crore. The board approved the appointment of Ms. Manjaree Chowdhary, currently Senior Executive Officer and General Counsel at Maruti Suzuki India, as an Independent Director for a five-year term starting August 2, 2025. Mrs. Vijaya Sampath will step down as Independent Director on completion of her tenure on August 4, 2025. The board also cleared an investment of up to Rs. 25 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary Safari Manufacturing Limited through redeemable preference shares, to fund capital expenditure at the unit whose revenue has grown sharply from Rs. 116 crore in FY23 to Rs. 481 crore in FY25.
Strong Q1 revenue and profit growth signals healthy demand for Safari's luggage and travel products, though the Rs. 25 crore infusion into the manufacturing subsidiary points to ongoing capacity expansion needs. The high-profile addition of a Maruti Suzuki executive to the board could strengthen corporate governance and strategic oversight, generally viewed positively by investors.
