The Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax in Bengaluru has issued a rectification order dated May 8, 2026, revising an earlier tax demand for Assessment Year 2023-24. The original demand of Rs. 100.04 crore has been reduced to Rs. 56.68 crore (both including interest). The tax authority made transfer pricing adjustments of Rs. 189.50 crore to the company's returned income. Sagility contests this demand as not maintainable and has already filed an appeal with the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) on May 12, 2026. The company states this has no material impact on its financials or operations.
The revised demand is lower than the original but still significant. However, since the company has filed an appeal and believes the demand is not maintainable, shareholders need not be immediately concerned unless the appeal is rejected.
