Sammaan Capital is offering to buy back its Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) maturing on or before September 30, 2025, at par through the exchange, and will hold them as treasury stock until original maturity. The move is driven by improved domestic liquidity conditions and the RBI's accommodative stance, which has lowered funding costs for the company. The buyback will be funded partly from the company's existing liquidity buffer, effectively accelerating debt repayment. Sammaan reported strong FY25 numbers: total funding raised of ₹14,221 crore (vs ₹5,812 crore in FY24), including ~₹5,000 crore of equity, net worth of ₹21,822 crore, capital adequacy over 34%, gearing of 1.9x, and gross/net NPAs at 1.3% and 0.8% respectively. Operational cash flows were also strong, with over ₹15,000 crore collected from the legacy loan book.
This is a positive signal for shareholders — the company has strong liquidity and is proactively reducing its near-term debt burden at par, which lowers future interest outflows and improves the liability profile. The healthy capital adequacy and low NPA ratios indicate financial stability, likely supportive of investor confidence.
