Samrat Forgings has received an order from the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Mohali, concluding proceedings related to a Show Cause Notice dated September 30, 2025. The original notice alleged non-declaration of correct tax liability for FY 2021-22 and raised a demand of about Rs. 3.79 crore including tax, interest, and penalty. The company submitted a detailed reply and paid Rs. 17,960 as tax and Rs. 57,100 as interest on delayed GST payment, which the department found satisfactory. As a result, the demand was dropped and the proceedings were closed with no further liability on the company.
This is a positive outcome for shareholders as the entire GST demand of around Rs. 3.79 crore has been dropped with no financial impact on the company, removing a significant overhang.
