On the reaction day the stock moved 1.0 pts less than Nifty Microcap 250 and 0.9 pts less than its Pharmaceuticals peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Sanofi India reported September-quarter revenue of Rs 4,754 crore, down 9% from Rs 5,240 crore, and profit after tax of Rs 760 crore, down 8% from Rs 822 crore. It recorded a Rs 273 crore exceptional charge. Nine-month continuing profit rose 19% to Rs 2,650 crore, while total profit fell 18% after the prior-year Consumer Healthcare business was classified as discontinued. The board declared a Rs 75 interim dividend, payable within 30 days.
Lower quarterly sales and profit may weigh on the stock, but the interim dividend and cost control offer support. The exceptional charge is a concern.
