Sarvamangal Mercantile Company reported no revenue from operations for Q1 FY26, with total income of just Rs. 3.34 lakhs coming entirely from 'other income', slightly lower than Rs. 3.99 lakhs in Q1 FY25. The company posted a loss after tax of Rs. 3.25 lakhs, an improvement from a Rs. 11.14 lakh loss in the same quarter last year. Basic and diluted EPS stood at Rs. (1.31). On the other hand, Other Comprehensive Income turned sharply positive at Rs. 552.72 lakhs (vs negative Rs. 30.88 lakhs YoY), reflecting fair value gains on equity investments, pushing Total Comprehensive Income to Rs. 549.47 lakhs. The statutory auditor Devpura Navlakha & Co. issued an unmodified review report with no qualifications.
The core business continues to generate no operating revenue and remains loss-making at the P&L level, though the loss has narrowed and large investment fair-value gains boosted overall comprehensive income. For shareholders, the key event is the leadership change: Managing Director Vandana Somani stepped down (continuing as Non-Executive Director), Non-Executive Director Varun Somani resigned, and Namrata Somani (wife of Varun Somani) was appointed as the new Managing Director, subject to AGM approval.
