Saumya Consultants Ltd reported its Q2 FY26 (quarter ended September 30, 2025) results, turning in a sharp loss. Total income fell to Rs 395.21 lakhs from Rs 2,303.84 lakhs in the same quarter last year, an approximately 83% year-on-year decline. The company swung to a loss before tax of Rs 418.22 lakhs and a loss after tax of Rs 359.46 lakhs, compared to a profit after tax of Rs 1,344.63 lakhs in Q2 FY25. Earnings per share stood at negative Rs 5.20 versus positive Rs 19.46 a year ago. For the half-year, profit after tax dropped to about Rs 783 lakhs from Rs 2,318 lakhs, while cash flow from operating activities was negative at around Rs 564 lakhs. The statutory auditors issued a limited review report that includes an Emphasis of Matter paragraph, though the conclusion remains unmodified.
Shareholders should note the steep drop in income and a swing to quarterly losses, which could weigh on short-term sentiment. However, the company remains debt-light with total equity of about Rs 12,589 lakhs against borrowings of just Rs 61 lakhs, and half-year results are still profitable on a cumulative basis, offering some cushion.
