Saurashtra Cement reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of ₹42,356.59 lakhs, up about 9.8% year-on-year from ₹38,579.56 lakhs in Q1 FY25, though lower sequentially versus ₹47,805.15 lakhs in Q4 FY25. Standalone net profit jumped to ₹1,679.14 lakhs (₹1.51 per share) from ₹979.76 lakhs (₹0.88 per share) a year earlier, a roughly 71% YoY rise. The cement and clinker segment drove the gains with revenue of ₹40,339 lakhs and segment profit of ₹3,330.63 lakhs, while the paints segment revenue grew to ₹2,017 lakhs and its loss narrowed to ₹417.87 lakhs from ₹622.05 lakhs. Total expenses rose modestly to ₹40,214 lakhs, and finance costs declined to ₹261.79 lakhs from ₹322.59 lakhs. No exceptional items were recorded in the quarter (versus ₹897.54 lakhs write-back in Q4 FY25). The auditor issued an unmodified review report, with no qualifications or emphasis-of-matter issues.
A sharp YoY jump in profit and margin expansion suggest improved operating performance and cost control, which is positive for shareholders. However, the sequential decline in revenue and profit versus Q4 FY25 reflects normal seasonality in the cement business and is not a concern. The clean auditor's report removes any immediate red flag on earnings quality.
