SBI Life Insurance reported strong premium growth with gross premium income rising 18.9% to ₹99,956 crore in FY26 from ₹84,060 crore in FY25. Net premium income remained the same at ₹99,956 crore. However, investment income (net) declined significantly to ₹1,106 crore from ₹3,171 crore, largely due to unrealized losses on linked investments. Profit after tax grew modestly by 2.4% to ₹2,470 crore from ₹2,413 crore. Basic EPS improved to ₹24.64 from ₹24.09. The solvency ratio stood at 1.90, well above the regulatory minimum of 1.5. Operating cash flow strengthened to ₹3,452 crore from ₹2,555 crore. The board declared an interim dividend of ₹2.70 per share. Joint statutory auditors issued an unmodified opinion with no concerns.
Positive for shareholders with premium growth and improved solvency, though investment income decline is a concern. Modest PAT growth and consistent dividend payout indicate stable performance.
