Schaeffler India reported Q1 CY'25 revenue of INR 2,110 crores, up 14.1% year-on-year, with a record-high EBITDA margin of 19.3% (vs 18.8% in Q4 CY'24) translating to INR 407 crores in EBITDA and INR 265 crores in profit after tax (PAT margin of 12.6%). Free cash flow surged to INR 237 crores from INR 163 crores in the prior quarter, aided by moderated capex of INR 82.5 crores (roughly half the year-ago level). The company highlighted that exports grew 20% quarter-on-quarter led by Asia Pacific and new European geographies, localization ratio improved to 76% from 67-68% earlier, and series production of e-axles has commenced. The 5th plant at Shoolagiri is expected to be operational in H2 CY'25, while KRSV (e-commerce arm) contributed INR 64.6 crores in revenue but remained EBITDA-negative, dragging consolidated EBITDA margin to 18.3%.
Strong quarterly performance with record EBITDA margin, robust cash flow, and export recovery signals positive momentum for the stock. However, KRSV margin pressure and modest sequential revenue growth may temper near-term enthusiasm.
