AI summary

Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited has obtained a stay order from the Gujarat High Court at Ahmedabad on August 5, 2025, against an income tax assessment order. The Income Tax Department's Assessment Unit had raised a tax demand of approximately INR 18.53 crore (after income adjustments) for Assessment Year 2017-18 under Section 147 read with Section 144B of the Income Tax Act. The company had challenged this order by filing a writ petition, and the court has now stayed the enforcement and execution of the assessment order until the writ petition is disposed of. The company had previously intimated the exchange about this matter on March 27, 2025.

Likely market impact

Positive near-term relief for shareholders as the company is not required to pay the disputed tax demand of ~INR 18.53 crore while the court hears its case. However, the final outcome remains uncertain and depends on the disposal of the writ petition, so investors should monitor further updates.
