Shanthi Gears Limited reported Q1 FY26 revenue from operations of ₹134.89 Cr, down about 2.8% from ₹138.82 Cr in Q1 FY25. Despite the revenue dip, profit after tax rose roughly 5% to ₹22.69 Cr (from ₹21.66 Cr), and profit before tax grew 6% to ₹30.62 Cr, helped by sharply lower raw material costs (₹62.50 Cr vs ₹78.13 Cr) and lower other expenses. Basic EPS stood at ₹2.96 versus ₹2.82 a year ago. The company also reported a strong ROIC of 49% and free cash flow of ₹26.1 Cr (up 24% YoY), with new orders worth ₹145 Cr booked during the quarter and an unexecuted order book of ₹249 Cr. Separately, Ms. Soundara Kumar completed her second term as Independent Director, and Ms. Aruna Thangaraj was appointed as a new Independent Director for a five-year term.
The results show resilient profitability and cash generation despite a modest revenue decline, which is a positive sign for shareholders. Strong order book and improved margins suggest business momentum remains healthy, though the slight revenue contraction warrants monitoring. Board change is routine and unlikely to affect operations.
