On the reaction day the stock moved 6.4 pts less than Nifty Microcap 250 and 6.1 pts less than its Media & Entertainment peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Shemaroo Entertainment received an order on Dec 8, 2025 from CGST Commissioner (Appeals), Mumbai, rejecting its appeal. The demand relates to allegedly inadmissible Input Tax Credit of about Rs 70.26 crore, plus equal penalty and interest. Additional penalty of Rs 63.35 crore imposed. Penalties of Rs 133.61 crore each also on Joint MD, CEO and CFO. The company does not accept the order and plans to file a further appeal.
Significant potential financial liability if appeals fail; negative near-term sentiment. Company plans further legal challenge.
