On the reaction day the stock moved 1.3 pts less than Nifty Smallcap 250 and 0.5 pts less than its Shipping peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
The Board of SCI shared its comments with the Exchange on a fine of about Rs 7.56 lakh (including GST) levied by NSE for non-compliance with SEBI Listing Regulations for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The non-compliance covered Board and committee composition rules. Committee composition became compliant from April 11, 2025 after three Independent Directors were appointed, and waiver applications filed with NSE and BSE were accepted. Board composition under Regulation 17(1) is still non-compliant, and the company has asked the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways to appoint more Independent Directors including a woman director.
Fine amount is small and waivers already partly accepted. Board still short of required Independent Directors; PSU-level appointment delays the fix.
