Q1 FY27 revenue from operations rose to Rs 16,012.95 lacs from Rs 15,363.37 lacs a year earlier, up about 4 percent. However, total expenses jumped nearly 22 percent to Rs 17,357.97 lacs, driven by sharp increases in raw material costs (up about 31 percent) and power and fuel (up about 56 percent). The company swung from a profit after tax of Rs 1,726.63 lacs in Q1 FY26 to a loss of Rs 323.69 lacs in Q1 FY27. EPS stood at minus 2.34 versus Rs 12.49 earlier. Other income includes a fair value gain of Rs 692.26 lacs on investments. Auditor issued an unmodified review conclusion.
Sharp cost inflation pushed the paper maker into losses despite modest revenue growth, signalling near-term margin pressure for shareholders.
