Shri Vasuprada Plantations Ltd has received a favourable order from the Kerala High Court at Ernakulam dated December 16, 2025, in a case against the State of Kerala, Forest & Wildlife Department and others. The Court has allowed the company to cut, remove and replant rubber trees on its estates (Chemoni, Echipara and Pudukad). Importantly, the Court recalled its earlier direction that required the company to deposit the entire sale proceeds with the forest department. Going forward, the company only needs to file quarterly statements of accounts with the forest department, and forest officials can oversee the cutting and replanting process. The company stated this judgement will have a favourable impact on its operations and financial position.
Positive for shareholders — the company can now monetise its rubber tree inventory without depositing sale proceeds with the forest department, which should improve cash flows and operating flexibility. This removes a significant regulatory overhang on the company's rubber plantation business.
