SMS Pharmaceuticals reported strong FY25 results with standalone revenue from operations rising to Rs. 78,274.81 lakhs from Rs. 70,926.34 lakhs, a growth of about 10.4% year-on-year. Profit before tax jumped to Rs. 9,332.05 lakhs (vs Rs. 6,633.17 lakhs) and net profit after tax grew to Rs. 6,838.12 lakhs (vs Rs. 4,942.49 lakhs), up around 38%. On a consolidated basis, net profit stood at Rs. 6,913.50 lakhs. EPS for the year rose to Rs. 8.07 (standalone) from Rs. 5.84. The Board recommended a 40% dividend (Re. 0.40 per share). The company also approved a Rs. 10 crore investment in subsidiary SMS Peptides and the incorporation of a new wholly owned subsidiary for pharmaceutical manufacturing in new therapeutic areas. Statutory auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
Strong profit growth of around 38% with margin expansion signals improved operational efficiency and is positive for shareholders, supported by a 40% dividend and clean audit. The new subsidiary and Rs. 10 crore peptide investment point to growth plans, though significant capex of Rs. 123 crore during the year may keep borrowings elevated in the near term.
