Som Distilleries & Breweries reported Q1 FY26 total income of Rs. 530.1 crore (up 3.2% YoY), EBITDA of Rs. 72.1 crore (~13.6% margin) and net profit of Rs. 42.1 crore (~7.9% margin). Beer volumes fell ~2.5% while IMFL volumes grew ~58%, dragged down by unseasonal rains and a Karnataka excise duty hike that wiped out 20%+ industry volumes in the state. Management cut its full-year revenue growth target from 20-22% to 15-17% (Rs. 1,650-1,700 crore), having lost 4-5% market share in Karnataka (now 12.5-13% from 17.5-18%). The UP brewery project is on track for August-September 2026 commissioning with Rs. 55 crore already spent out of Rs. 370 crore, and the promoter group aims to lift its holding from ~40% to 50-51%.
Soft Q1 print and trimmed growth guidance may weigh on the stock in the near term, but management expects margin expansion, Karnataka share recovery from Q2, and a strong growth catalyst once the UP plant comes online next year. Promoter intent to raise stake signals insider confidence.
