The Board of Sonata Software, at its May 7, 2025 meeting, recommended a Final Dividend of Rs. 4.40 per equity share (440% on face value of Re. 1) for FY25, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM. The company also released audited results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025, with auditors (BSR & Co. LLP) issuing an unmodified opinion. On a consolidated basis, FY25 revenue rose about 18% year-on-year to roughly Rs. 10,157 crore, while net profit jumped nearly 38% to about Rs. 425 crore, pushing EPS to Rs. 15.30 versus Rs. 11.12 in FY24. Standalone profit, however, fell around 40% to Rs. 214 crore, mainly because the company received lower dividend income from its subsidiaries this year. The Board also appointed GDR & Partners LLP as the new Secretarial Auditor for a five-year term starting FY26.
The healthy consolidated earnings growth and the Rs. 4.40 per share dividend are positives for shareholders, though the standalone profit dip is more a timing issue on subsidiary dividends than a sign of weak core business.
