South India Paper Mills reported a turnaround in Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025). Revenue from operations rose to ₹10,688.84 lakhs from ₹9,414.36 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a growth of about 13.5%. The company swung back to a profit of ₹98.16 lakhs after posting a loss of ₹187.76 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Diluted EPS stood at ₹0.52 versus a loss of ₹1.20 in the year-ago quarter. There were no exceptional items this quarter, though the prior fiscal year's exceptional item related to an insurance claim from a fire incident in FY24. The Board also approved the appointment of a new Secretarial Auditor for a five-year term starting April 2025, pending shareholder approval.
The results signal an operational turnaround with both revenue growth and a return to profitability, which is positive for shareholders. However, absolute profit remains modest and margins appear thin, so the recovery needs to be watched for sustainability.
